Woke up today after the first night of real sleep this week. It felt great to wake up and just sit in bed. Lately I’ve felt so rushed that I don’t have any time to just sit and relax.
Finally rolled out of bed at a little past noon. Adham (our landlord) had arranged to have the maid come by and clean up our apartment. She got to our place at around one and started cleaning. She cleans more diligently than I thought possible. She moved the couches and chairs and cleaned every nook and cranny. I felt kinda bad just watching as she did all this work…. However, I guess that’s how she makes her living… still.
Anyways Evan and I grabbed some koshri and ate it at the apartment. I think both of us want to get work done today but just feel beat from the week. Probably, going to turn out to be a relaxed day.
Spent most of the afternoon reviewing and attempting to catch up on my journal. I’m really behind but I was able to put a large dent in it. At seven Evan and I decided to go explore some back streets and find a new place to eat. We walked around till we found a pretty local looking area. Evan really wanted a specific type of soup and we spend the better part of a half hour trying to find it. We eventually gave up and just looked for the most down to earth restaurant.
We eventually got invited in by a local restaurant owner who offered us soup. Wasn’t the lentil soup we were looking for but it was still good. After that we ordered some baked chicken. We ended up receiving a really greasy fried chicken…. Good but absolutely drenched. After dinner we walked back and checked out this area that was new to us.
We eventually found our way back to the apartment. Jessie came over and the three of us hung out for awhile. I watched some television and did some review.
Planned to meet Kevin the following morning at ten to go to the citadel. So I went to bed earlyish…
